Unit 104 Auxiliary Events

Projects of 2020

Our year for the American Legion Auxiliary runs from July 1, through June 30 and these projects are planned for the year:

  1. A cook book is being planned. We are asking each member to send two recipes to Susan Agle at stepmonster911@yahoo.com or by mail to 180 Sawmill Springs, Bryson City, NC 28713. The AL members are also invited to contribute to this cookbook.
  2. April 4, 2020 - CANCELED. Yard sale at the AL Post in Sylva. This will be a "rain or shine" event from 8 AM until 2 PM. Bring your donated items to the Post on Thurs, April 2 or Friday, April 3.
  3. May 22 & 23, 2020 - CANCELED. Distribute Poppies & bake sale at Uncle Bill's Flea Mkt. AL & ALA members are invited to donate baked goods. This will be from 9 AM until 3 PM.
  4. June 20, 2020 - TBA Bake Sale in Dillsboro from 8 AM until 2 PM.
  5. October 10, 2020 - CANCELED Bake sale & Craft Bazaar at the AL Post in Sylva. All you "crafty" people begin making crafts now to donate to this worthy cause.

Remember, all the money we raise stays right here in our area to help our Veterans & their families.

Making "thinking of you cards" for residents at Skyland and Morningstar.

American Legion Auxiliary  members Janice Short, Millie Bumgarner, Barbara Rohner and Becky Harwood made over 120 "thinking of you cards" for each resident at Skyland Nursing Home and Morningstar Nursing facility. Both facilities were most appreciative of these home-cards for their residents.

Lap Quilts for Local Veterans

Members of American Legion Post 104 Auxiliary made lap quilts for Veterans who are at local nursing homes. Participating were Janice Short, Wanda Buchanan, Sarah Thurston and Becky Harwood.
